Viewing the school
Open mornings for prospective parents are arranged annually in the Autumn term. If you cannot make these, appointments can be made to visit the school on an alternative day. Please do not hesitate to contact the school office to arrange this.
We do not provide a breakfast or after school club.
Open Mornings (for children starting school in September 2021)
Government guidance on social distancing changes frequently. As such, the following Open Morning dates are provisional and subject to change.
Wednesday 14th October 2020 - 9:30am-11:00am
Wednesday 11th November 2020 - 9:30am - 11:00am
Wednesday 9th December 2020 - 9:30am - 11:00am
Prior to children starting school they are invited to attend a morning session in their classroom to become familiar with their new environment and to meet their peers. On a separate day, parents are also invited to a brief information meeting with the Headteacher, Foundation Stage teacher, School Council children and representatives from the governing body and PTA. These visits are extremely useful to both parents and children in getting to know the school.
For children starting school in September 2020, the key dates are as follows:
Thursday 16th April 2020 - National Offer Day (primary school places)
Monday 4th May 2020 - Deadline to accept offer of school place
Monday 18th May 2020 - Closing date for receipt of appeals
Early June 2020 - Welcome letter to be emailed to parent from St Nicholas School
Summer break - EYFS Transitions (to be confirmed based on Government advice)
Monday 7th - Friday 11th September 2020 - EYFS children attend on a part-time basis.
Monday 14th September 2020 - From this date, all EYFS children attend full time.
The Foundation stage team will arrange a visit to meet parents and child at home in early September prior to starting school.
The arrangements for admission to the school in the academic year September 2021 – 2022 have now been determined (above).
